On May 21, 2001, John Kohnen ushered the Coots into the 21st century and created the MessaboutW group on Yahoo.

Coots now enjoy all the benefits of instantaneous, ubiquitous communication and data access. This Yahoo group allows us to 'show our feathers' to the wide, wonderful world and it was soon discovered that there are Coots in every country and every walk of life.

May 21 shall forever be remembered as the day the Coots burst forth upon the collective consciousness of humanity.
